Next week, I'll be joining Steven Lin, an amazing musician and one of my best friends, to play a few songs for a charity event at UC Davis. When Steve first asked me to join him, I was somewhat surprised since I am a very amateur guitar player with no performance experience and he is an accomplished pianist and composer. But of course I couldn't say no to the opportunity to play music with Steve and to help such an important cause. With our busy schedules, it wasn't always easy for us to find time to rehearse, and when we did find time, our rehearsals would inevitably end when we put down our instruments in favor of playing Mario Kart. Still, we've managed to put together a nice set that sounds great (mostly thanks to Steve), and I'm quite excited to perform next weekend. Oh yes, and we decided to call our duo Ask Emily.
